Kitab Allah vs Kitab JPJ

Bismillah.
Assalamualaikum.

Ia diturunkan melalui perantaraan Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلّم kepada kita umat akhir zaman.

Lampu merah = Haram jalan
Lampu kuning = Makruh jalan
Lampu Hijau = Wajib jalan

Terima kasih .

Rejoice, Ramadhan is coming.

Assalamualaikum,

In the khutbah today, the imam again and again encourage us to do 'al-khair' goodness in the month of Sya'ban.  A month fill with 'barakah' blessings from Allah SWT. Albeit many virtue that can be practiced in this holy month, he stressed 'Al-soum'. Fasting with steadfast.

The messages in the khutbah are numerous, but only two of hadith our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلّم which my humble ears can get specifically lock-on. Both hadith showed me the preparation must be done to greet the holiest month in Islam.

"Anyone of you, do not greet Ramadhan
by fasting a day or two (near to it)"

The incentive is cleared, the hadith told us don't wait at the end of sya'ban to fast. Prepare ourself as early as possible. My low-class opinion if we fast before ramadhan the fast itself will train our mind and body to prepare for the coming month of trials. Also, if someone close to us and we want to cherish their visit to our home, we will  greet them will all our caliber. Thus we must treat Ramadhan as our most cherished guest by fasting!.

As we all know, on the month of Sya'ban our 'amal' will rises to Allah. Our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم loves to do when His 'amal' rises is fasting. Directly correlated with the hadith below :

"I love when my 'amal' raises i'm fasting"

So Rejoice o believer, Ramadhan is coming. Lets ask Allah to lengthen our life to meet with Ramadhan this year. Ameen ya Allah. Happy fasting ;)

Diversity of perception

 a diamond or a cube?

Assalamualaikum,

On Orthopedic clinical round, our professor was talking about symptomatology in orthopedic. He said that even though our physiological functions toward the pain mechanism are nearly the same as everyone, but he said that there's some variability in perceiving it. Theoretically it is proven by the different pain threshold that our body accustomed to each day. For example, our ancestors are accustomed to walk bare-footed regardless to the surface of the road, hot and cold, and even small prick will never bothers them. Look at us today, we can never walk without having to put our sandal on.

In a practical or clinical manner, my professor add one of his experience on how this diversity of perception can affect our daily job as future doctors. One man was still very sweaty from playing football, carried by five of his friends came to the clinic. He shouts and shouts saying "ana hamuut" ( i will die ). We can not do any clinical examination because when we do something as simple as palpating the site of the pain he will withdraws it. Worried because nothing that could be done to him, the prof simply ask his friends to go and get him a plain ankle X-ray.

After analyzing the X-ray, the prof just put some bandage and prescribe him with NSAID. He told the man to go home and have a good rest. There's nothing wrong actually!, only ankle sprain!. After one hour came an old man, he has some disturbance in his walking gait. Mild dipping gait, not so showy and only the prof can notice it. the old man was alone, walking and taking as much as three buses to get here as he is from country area "balad".

Speaking calmly he share his story of the trauma, he said that he fell from his roof, and felt pain at his middle  left tibia. Without any grave expectation, the prof just want to make sure there is no bone involvement so he ask the old man to get a plain x-ray a-v view and lateral view of his left tibia. The old man walks out without any difficulties and go to the x-ray room. After awhile he comes back with the x-ray. The prof stare at the x-ray,he doesn't believe what he was seeing.

Two simple words "Spiral Fracture" of the tibia.  One of the most painful fracture in Orthopedic,in regular patient he or she will need 5mg morphine just to kill the pain but the old man remains calm and remains not intrested and only said "iktibli dawa' 3ashan amshi" ( just prescribe me some medicine because i want to go home ). The prof ask him to be hospitalized and told him to prepare for open surgical repair of his fractured limb. The old man was in shock!.

That is how far the diversity of perception can be, the lesson for us to learn is everyone have their own perceptions on everything. We are dynamic, complex being that Allah SWT created as his "khalifah" on His world. Don't condemn others perceptions on any given issues. Learn form them, because no nobody is perfect, we are created in need for each other. Do not do bad things or harm them, give our love to them. Make our strength covers their weaknesses and their strength will be ours as well. Stand as one block strengthening each others as our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلام said.

Thank you.

ayahanda menyahut "As-solah"

Yang baik dari Allah.

1st Aid towards a very common open wound : Abrasion

Abrasion with discharge
Salam

All of us had this moment, the pain is unimaginable or other words are very very painful wound. If occurs in child, he or she will never cease from crying due to pain. Simple or brush abrasion also usually accompanied by serum discharge, what with this material? is it sterile or infectious?.

Don't worry so much. Calm down, this simple wound is not an emergency and will not threaten your life :) .By worrying or increase stress the symphathetic (due to pain) or parasymphathetic (due to fear) nervous system will be activated then result in mild shock state.

The cause of intense pain is irritation of the superficial skin nerve ending at the wound site. The nerve ending irritated by inflammatory-induced material such as prostaglandin from the dead tissues.

The discharge?. It is the nutrient containing substances that diffuse from the adjacent patent arteriol which supply the skin. Without the skin overlying it, in this case the fluid will oozes on top of the wound.

Enough of the boring theory, lets get back to practical application of 1st aid. It is shame on who calls them self medical student if don't know how to deal with this type of very simple wound. It is simple like abc!.

a.Inspect the wound, site, makesure it just an abrasion due to fall and friction (superficial , no severe bleeding)

b.Clean the wound and surrounding skin by saline or clean tap water thoroughly and free it from foreign bodies (if present)

c.Put antiseptic such as iodine, antibacterial cream (fusidic acid) and so on with cotton bud at the wound site.

d.If it needs covering use non-adherent gauze. NEVER use cotton because it will stick to the tissue and hard to remove!.

Let us be useful to others as the time will come when we need others
"We need each other to live..seriously!"

End.
